Pruning

Honoring natural growth patterns keeps maintenence costs down and allows the beauty of the specimen to enhance your space naturally the way it was meant to and allows your space to look and feel comfortable. Both formal and casual spaces alike respond extremely well to this (our preferred method) of pruning. On average this method requires us to do a quick maintenance-prune twice a year.

Pruning things into submission (shapes) requires more maintenance and your landscape is no longer relaxing when its oviousely time for pruning again. This approach to pruning also encreases the chance of weakening the plant making it more difficult to recover from injury, insect pests and diseases. We do prune things this way when required but we prefer to work with mother nature. That said, we can not ignore the fact that it is fun sometimes to see what you can do with the shapes of some shrubs. On average, this pruning method requires 3-5 intensive prunings per year.

We prune small trees (up to 20') and shrubs for health and vigor. Pruning to enhance shape or to restore natural growth patterns, rejuvinate, renovate and to repair damage.
